Preparing for Net Zero: New Castle County

Registration is closed for this event
Across the country, jurisdictions are looking for opportunities to ensure that our homes, offices, schools, and hospitals are safe and resilient, while minimizing their contributions to global climate change. The state of Delaware has set a requirement for all new residential and commercial construction to be net zero capable by 2025 and 2030 respectively. With only a few years to reach this target, New Castle County is exploring tools in the toolbox to lead the way. From incentives to code updates, we’ll explore the policy levers that other cities, counties, and states are using to advance low-carbon buildings and how Delaware’s local governments can meet the state mandate, prepare now for the future, and enhance sustainability and resilience.
